Pakistan sends Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team with fully equipped field hospital and relief goods
Under the directives of the Government of Pakistan, and through the facilitation of the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka, the Pakistan Armed Forces and NDMA have arranged a series of C-130 humanitarian flights to transport the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team, fully equipped field hospitals, and approximately 100 tons of relief assistance. These flights will depart from Noor Khan Air Base (NKB) for Colombo.
The relief consignment includes essential life-saving and support items such as rescue boats, de-watering pumps, life jackets, rechargeable lamps, family tents, blankets, quilts, bubble mats, mosquito nets, infant milk, food supplies, and critical medicines as well as sniffing dogs.
Moreover, a Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) deployed in Sri Lanka has already commenced humanitarian operations. Its onboard helicopter is actively participating in relief and rescue missions in coordination with Sri Lankan Forces, extending crucial aerial support to affected areas.
The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo continues to extend its fullest support to the Government of Sri Lanka and is maintaining close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka as part of Pakistan’s solidarity efforts in response to the recent cyclonic floods. These efforts reiterate ancient bonds of friendship that unite both Pakistan and Srilanka with everlasting friendship in times of challenges and success.
