12th Scholarship Awarding Ceremony by Abrar Education Foundation
A scholarship award ceremony for the low-income students studying in 06 Muslim and Sinhala schools in Beruwala area was held on Monday (16-12-2024) evening at the Al-Fasiyatul Nasriya Muslim Balika MV, in Beruwala. Abrar Education Foundation organized the event in Burewala. The event, held under the guidance of the founder and former minister of the Abrar Education Foundation, Al-Haj Imtiaz Bakir Makkar, was presided over by the Chairman, Al-Haj Muhammad Nizam (JP). The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Major General (Retd) Fahim Aziz, was the Chief Guest, and the Director of Qatar Charity Sri Lanka, Muhammad Abu Khalifa, was the Guest of Honour. The Secretary of the Abrar Education Foundation, Dr. Maulvi M. Azwar Asahim (Al-Azhari), delivered the welcome speech. It is noteworthy that at this event, 50 low-income students studying in six schools, namely Al-Fasiyathul Nasriya Muslim Balika MV, Al-Fasiyatul Nasriya Boys’ School, Zam Refai Hajiar Maha Vidyalaya, I.L.M. Samsudeen Vidyalaya, and Massala Buddhist Junior School, were awarded scholarships. The High Commissioner of Pakistan also presented a memento to the Abrar Education Foundation in appreciation of its services. It is also noteworthy that Ms. Fathima Safra Raji, an alumna of Al-Fasiyatul Nasriya Muslim Balika MV and a high-ranking civil servant, was awarded a memento by the Abrar Education Foundation. In his speech, the Pakistani High Commissioner recalled the long-standing close relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
