{"id":7893,"date":"2019-04-30T14:52:23","date_gmt":"2019-04-30T09:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/?p=7893"},"modified":"2020-01-08T00:50:26","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T19:20:26","slug":"sri-lankan-educationists-to-visit-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/?p=7893","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lankan educationists to visit Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/High-Commissioner-of-Pakistan-Maj.-Gen.-R-Dr.-Shahid-Ahmad-Hashmat-with-Sri-Lankan-delegation-1024x671.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7896\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A\n14-member delegation, comprising of Vice Chancellors and senior educationists\nfrom Sri Lankan universities, is schedule to visit Pakistan on an orientation\ntour from May 02 to 09, 2019, on the invitation of the Higher Education\nCommission of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ndelegation members paid a courtesy call on High Commissioner of Pakistan, Major\nGeneral (R) Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat at High Commission\u2019s premises on April 30,\n2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During\nthe meeting, the High Commissioner said that Pakistan has a great deal to offer\nto international students, with a rich diversity in its culture, landscapes and\npeople, as well as well-respected educational institutes. He reiterated\nPakistan\u2019s commitment to contribute in enhancing the prospects of Sri Lanka\u2019s\nyouth for better educational opportunities.&nbsp;The High Commissioner expressed\nthe hope that the visit will open new avenues of collaboration and more\nin-depth academic and research cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nHigh Commissioner also spoke about Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education\nCooperation Programme in which Pakistan is offering 1000 scholarships to Sri\nLankan students in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Information Technology\nand Social and Management Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ndelegation members, apart from visiting the educational institutions in Islamabad,\nLahore and Karachi, will also visit the historical Gandhara sites at Taxila.\nThe delegation will also meet high ranking government dignitaries during their\nstay in Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 14-member delegation, comprising of Vice Chancellors and senior educationists from Sri Lankan universities, is schedule to visit Pakistan on an orientation tour from May 02 to 09, 2019, on the invitation of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
