{"id":3546,"date":"2014-11-04T15:23:58","date_gmt":"2014-11-04T09:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanhc.lk\/?p=3546"},"modified":"2020-01-09T00:17:15","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T18:47:15","slug":"pakistan-sends-relief-assistance-for-sri-lankan-landslide-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/?p=3546","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan Sends Relief Assistance for Sri Lankan Landslide Victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/2014\/11\/pakistan-sends-relief-assistance-for-sri-lankan-landslide-victims\/pakistani-relief-for-flood-victims\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3547\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3547\" title=\"Pakistani relief for flood victims\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pakistanhc.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Pakistani-relief-for-flood-victims-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Pakistan Sends Relief Assistance for Sri Lankan Landslide Victims\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The First Cargo flight of relief goods from Pakistan for the land slide victims of Haldummula arrived today at Katunayake airport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The relief goods containing generators, shelters, tents, medicines, etc. were handed over by the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka HE Maj Gen \u00ae Qasim Qureshi to the Sri Lankan Deputy Chief of Staff Maj Gen EMM Ambanpola, USP.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The estimated value of the relief assistance by the Government of Pakistan for the land sliding victims is over LKR 100 Million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On 31<\/span><sup>st<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0October 2014, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his condolence message to the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, had conveyed that Pakistan is\u00a0ready to assist Sri Lanka in any way to meet its urgent requirements in relief and rehabilitation efforts.\u00a0Concurrently, the Chief of Pakistan\u2019s Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, also had a telephonic conversation with his counterpart Lt Gen Daya Ratnayke to express his sympathy and to assess the assistance required by Sri Lanka.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">While speaking on the occasion, Pakistan\u2019s High Commissioner reiterated Pakistan\u2019s continued commitment to assist Sri Lanka during its relief and rehabilitation efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The second special flight carrying relief goods is expected to arrive tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 The First Cargo flight of relief goods from Pakistan for the land slide victims of Haldummula arrived today at Katunayake airport.
