Gen. (R) Qasim Qureshi, presented his credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees in Colombo on March 19th, 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: garamond, serif; font-size: medium;\">Major General (R) Qasim Qureshi had arrived in Colombo earlier this month.\u00a0<\/span>Major General (R) Qasim Qureshi<span style=\"font-family: garamond, serif; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0had joined Pakistan Army in November 1972, and was commissioned in October 1974. He was retired from Pakistan Army\u2019s active service in October 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: garamond, serif; font-size: medium;\">Maj Gen (R) Qasim Qureshi has held various important assignments during his military career.\u00a0Since retirement he has been involved in various Track 2 initiatives prior to joining his present assignment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: garamond, serif; font-size: medium;\">The newly appointed High Commissioner is a highly decorated officer having numerous honours and awards to his credit<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: garamond, serif; font-size: medium;\">including\u00a0<\/span>\u201cHilal-i-<wbr>Imtiaz (Military)\u201d\u00a0and &#8220;Sitara-i-Esaar&#8221;.<\/wbr><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Pakistan\u2019s New Envoy\u00a0Presented Credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa Colombo: 20th, March, 2013 Pakistan&#8217;s new High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Maj.
